Pawsitive Steps Academy is an intensive training program that focuses on developing key life skills, improving manners and focus, and preparing dogs for success in real-world settings.
Unlike traditional daycare or group training, this program blends hands-on skill-building with enrichment and structured learning, making it the perfect choice for dogs who need more than just playtime.
This academy is designed for:

What will my dog learn?
Settle Program – Teaching Relaxation & Impulse Control
Dogs need to know how to calm themselves and remain settled, whether at home, in a café, or at a vet’s office. This program helps your dog learn to relax in different environments, even when distractions are present. Your dog will practice:
Settling in public places (cafés, stores, parks)
Building duration in down-stay positions
Ignoring distractions and focusing on their handler
Learning how to self-regulate energy levels
Manners Program – Teaching Everyday Skills for a Well-Behaved Dog
Having a polite and well-mannered dog makes life easier at home and in public. This program focuses on:
Polite greetings (no jumping on people)
Impulse control around food, toys, and other dogs
Learning to wait at doorways and thresholds
Building confidence in social settings
Reliable Recall Program – Come When Called, Every Time
One of the most important skills a dog can have is a solid recall—being able to return to their handler in any situation. Whether at the park, in the backyard, or during an emergency, your dog will learn to:
Come when called, even with distractions
Build reliability and confidence in off-leash environments
Practice recall games to make coming back fun and rewarding
Loose Leash Walking – Enjoy Stress-Free Walks
Say goodbye to pulling, zig-zagging, and frustration on walks! This program teaches dogs to walk politely on a loose leash, making your daily outings easier and more enjoyable. Training includes:
Walking without pulling, even around distractions
Staying focused on the handler instead of external distractions
Learning proper leash manners in public spaces and busy environments
Reinforcement of Essential Commands & Real-World Training
All dogs in Pawsitive Steps Academy will continue practicing foundational skills such as:
Down, Stay, Leave It, and Wait
Focusing on the handler in new environments
Exposure to real-world situations (public outings, new locations, car rides, vet visits, and more!)
